Cracked Pots on the Crazy Road of Life.
I am a cracked pot. I was created in the image of God yet have fallen far short of the original template He purposed me for. I am a sinner saved by the everlasting and ever forgiving love of God through Jesus. When a potter centres a lump of clay onto the pottery wheel, he never intends that the work of art he is creating will be broken. As he patiently moulds it and shapes it with his skilful hands he sees the finished masterpiece that it will become. He sees a useful and unique vessel. Yet as you know every work of art can be broken. Because of sin… you and I can be broken. Some times by our own bad decisions, or by the destructive decisions of others.. and the attacks of the enemy.. we all get broken.
The good news is Jesus loves cracked and broken pots. His love and grace is the glue that repairs our lives and restores us to the full intentions the Father has for us. I love these words.
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4: 7- 9
Thanks for you constant prayer for our ministry and the many battles we face to serve the Lord. It is a hard and crazy road at times. Itinerant ministry can be a lonely calling yet the need is great for the preaching of the Gospel. I praise God He delights to use “cracked pot” people like us in His Kingdom work. Just like the picture above….. Don’t ever give up.. Keep on trucking for Jesus in all you do… no matter how crazy it gets.
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18
Godspeed
