In November 1986 I had the opportunity to visit my first State of America. It was Hawaii. I traveled there with my father-in-law, Ron Ross, who was a guest speaker at a missions conference. We stayed with a family who served with Youth with a Mission.
While watching the 6 o’clock news on the first night there I was saddened by the way the American news media were blatantly attacking the office of the President, in particular Ronald Reagan. I can’t remember the details of the news story but I can remember the affect it had on my hosts. Heavy hearted they went to prayer around the dinner table for the leadership on their country. After that I went to my room and wrote these words.
I had grown up as a missionary kid in Papua New Guinea and cherished the many friendships my family had with people from the USA. My family was always encouraged and blessed by American people. So this song became my prayer. I think it is even more relevant today than when it was first written.
God’s love is great for every nation and every tribe and tongue. I do believe that when the people of a nation humble themselves and pray, turn from their sin and seek God’s grace that he restores. I believe He can heal the land and redeem the hearts of the people back to Him.
As an Australian I pray that America can become the nation it was destined to be under God through faith in Jesus Christ. A nation blessed to be a blessing to every nation on earth.

Heard Steve sing at “Church of the Apostles: Atlanta Ga . “Song For America: was very moving as is the CD we purchased “The Long Journey Home”. The song brought tears to my eyes as he sang it. I would like to suggest that he send a copy of it to Glenn Beck and Mike Huckabee of FOX News. AMERICA needs to hear this song.
God Bless YOU

“A Song for America” blessed me to tears. I was refreshed with hope that brothers and sisters internationally, are praying for us to get back to our original purpose that fills the documents of our founding fathers, given to them by the Lord. Sometimes we feel isolated in this struggle to rest in the Lord for this.
The endtime events can not be prayed away, but we can choose WHO’s side we are on, in those events. Either America is totally destroyed, therefore not directly mentioned in the Bible during the Great Tribulation, or we are “totally” raptured before, with virtually no one left to be mentioned as any significant power. I’m praying and living to see the latter, not only for America, but for all the world’s countries, islands, etc., also for Messiah’s reign to bring peace to Jerusalem (Psalm 122 -related subject).
God bless my brother Steve Grace and all those who keep praying for America. Many of your brothers and sisters here are praying for you as well. May we all be aware of our equal union in Jesus, following the Holy Spirit’s leading accordingly.
When Jesus is lifted up, all people will be drawn to HIM in order to make that decision (true salvation) for themselves. May all of us afford them that opportunity by our prayers and lifestyles. To God be the Glory!
I heard Steve sing this song last night at The Healing Place Church in St. Amant, LA. This song moved me so very much. I was just thinking that if someone who wasn’t even from our great country could feel this way about America, how come our own don’t think this way? We gave Steve a standing ovation at the end, and I was running to buy this cd after church service to share with all my family and friends. We need more Steve Grace’s in America and all over the world. God Bless you!
G’Day, Steve:
LOVED your visit to Church of the Apostles in Atlanta recently. I had two guests with me that day, one visiting from Mexico and one from Australia. I was not familiar with your music and ministry, but was so wow-ed that there you were, praising God in our sanctuary and my Australian colleague sitting right there! Such a God-thing. God Bless you and your ministry, I am a new fan and look forward to hearing your music in the future. You really bless us with your musical talents and heart for the Lord. My husband and I love SONG FOR AMERICA, thanks for your commitment to our nation and this land.
Love you and bless you,

Steve,
We really enjoyed your music at the Packinghouse on Sunday, 9-6. We listened to your “Song for America” and downloaded it, This song has so many truths in the words that all of us here in the USA need to listen to and do as well. We pray for your ministries to be a continuing success. God bless you in all that you do.
