Turning 50 and the road ahead.
Faith drives us to think bigger than yesterday, to believe beyond the here and now. It drives us to trust more in God and less in our own self made achievements.
As I head towards the road sign with a big “50″ on it I am convinced the best years still lay ahead. I do confess there have been some lonely times in this work. As a man you never talk about that stuff. You just get on with it. But I want to be honest and real as I know that is so important to genuine ministry.
I thank the Lord for a precious marriage and family and those who have stuck by me when it gets tough. I am thankful that life comes from death on this journey called faith. That in solitude I can enquire of the Lord and seek His help. It amazes me that you and I have been created and called to achieve a specific purpose in this life. That’s the joy of the journey. Faith… believing for things not yet seen.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:8-11
While ever I have strength and good health I want to be found serving Jesus and leading others to a faith in Him.
I will fix my sights on the things for which God sent me to do.
Godspeed,
