The Gift of Teachability.

Winston Churchill once said: “I am always ready to learn although I do not always like being taught.”

That about sums me up!! If someone had told me when I was 15 years old that I would be serving the Lord in a music ministry for most of my life I would have laughed. I failed music in school. I was ejected from many music lessons by distraught teachers and today…, I still cannot read a note of music. Yet despite this limitation I have written hundreds of songs, toured the world, recorded 12 albums and done concerts in nearly every town in Australia. I like that. God in His mercy will teach us even though we are resistant to learn. He takes us in with all our limitations and inadequacies and makes something wonderful out of us that brings even more glory to his kingdom and Name.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Does that discount the gift of learning? Never!! We are never to old to learn. We are never too young not to. All we can learn in our growing years will empower us to achieve great exploits in time. Live for knowledge but grow through experience. Jesus calls us to “Go and do likewise”. Put faith into action and put everything you have learned into practice.

Let’s be Jesus to this generation.

Thanks again for your constant prayers and support. Kerrie and I are honoured to have you as friends.

Godspeed,
