The Miracle of Brokenness

There is something special about people who have hit rock bottom and allowed the Lord to rebuild the foundations and walls of their lives. They are honest and transparent and more understanding of you, no matter where you are at. They don’t dwell on the superficial. They listen more and their words are few; But what they say speaks loudly to your soul.
People who are greatly used by God have usually been greatly broken in life. We cannot expect to experience the fullness of life without walking through the emptiness of loss and sorrow at times. I know this to be true. But you can trust people who have been broken.
I came across this amazing verse the other day.
2 Samuel 14:14.
“Like water spilled on the ground that cannot be recovered, so we must die. But God does not take away life; instead He devises ways so that a banished person may not be estranged from Him.”
Jesus was a man who was so completely broken before His father that people in their multitudes were drawn to him. The Cross was before him. He knew his purpose and cause. By the millions, they worship him today because of his eternal unconditional love. His purpose was to make a way so that banished sinners would not be estranged from Him.
I love that!! We all know we don’t always get everything we want in life… but we sure get so much more than we deserve!!
That’s the amazing grace of God over our lives every day. As we daily surrender our lives to Him, in our brokenness we are conformed to His character and made whole. For His cause.
Keep going strong in your faith and keep fighting for the stuff worth fighting for!
Godspeed,

Dear Steve,
Thanks so much for your encouraging words in the miracle of brokenness 8th June.
I’ve been a Christian for nearly 9 years now but I say with shame that only in the last 2 months I’ve had a truly repentant heart.I can barely grasp the faithfuliness of God to my answer my prayer to “Create in me a new heart and put a right spirit within me” Ps 51:10. Iam going through this process of brokenness now, finally having the revelation that I cannot do anything good without the Lord and His Holy Spirit.
Just wanted to encourage you in the work you do unto the Lord.I have been deeply touched by lyrics of some of your songs even when i was just searching.
Love your version of “how great thou art”
God Bless,
Janeice
Gday Steve,
We are big fans since I bought your first CD Follow when I was in my teens

We find you to be a fantastic male role model that alot of kids really need these days in Australia, one that openly speaks the good news, shares experiences and displays the aussie blokey-ness proudly,(love the fact that your grounded in bible truths)
Sorry I took a bit of your time when you were in a bit of a rush.
I feel really blessed to have met you and look forward eagerly to the day we catch up again, Hopefully Bunbury 2010
May God keep you and your family safe from harm
Dear Steve,
You are so right about the fact that there is something special about people who are utterly broken and then come to Christ. I really loved this reflection and the one for today about the unsung Herod who are doing missions work.
I get to work for Wycliffe Bible Translators Foundation here in the US. The work is truly amazing! I love your site and will be following you. Thank you and our beautiful Lord Jesus for the uplifting message and the Good News!
