Looking back

In 1973 I did my first ever public performance in this church. The old Presbyterian Church in the small town of Kangaroo Ground, Victoria.  My mate Geoff Bentley and I had formed a group with 4 girls from the Wycliffe Bible Translators base. We called the band “Freedom” which in hindsight was not a real good name as Geoff and I never got a word in!  A local Christian school teacher, Gordon Mullen patiently taught us all guitar lessons on Tuesday afternoons and encouraged us to start performing together. So it all started here at the ol “Pressy” church.  I hope to return there later this year and do a Thanksgiving concert. Driving by the church this weekend brought back many cherished memories.

In 1973 I gave my life to Jesus and learned to play guitar. All these years later I still love playing guitars and telling the world of God’s great love for us in Christ. Thanks so much for your friendship and support over the years.

Ps 108: 1-5. Says:
My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing and I will make music with my soul. Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn. I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations. I will sing praises to you among the peoples. For your loving kindness is great above the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth.

God bless,
